Elterwater , privately owned , is very small. Located in the middle of the Lake District, between Grasmere and Windermere Lakes. Great views of the Langdale Pikes and Langdale Valley.
The Elterwater Gunpowder Works was established 1824 and provided local employment until 1918. The site of the old Gunpowder works is now the Langdales Timeshare Development.
